Bio: Danielle Clements

Danielle Clements Ciao tutti! My name is Danielle Clements and I am a senior English Creative Writing major with minors in sociology and international studies at WVU. I’m from the DC Metro Area, Rockville, Maryland to be exact (go redskins!). This spring semester I will be studying in Trento, Italy, a small, northern city within the Adige Valley and just south of the Dolemite Mountains. At the University of Trento I’ll be studying literature, the Italian language and European politics and I can’t wait to get started.

At WVU I’ve been a member of the Italian Club, taken the language for a while and attended Italian Table so I’m really excited to finally jump in to total immersion. My main goal for this trip, besides having an amazing experience, is to achieve fluency in Italian. Among other things, this blog will surely be a testament to the potentially hilarious translation snafoos that I will encounter. Also while in Italy, I look forward to delving into the local culture, debunking the mysterious fanaticism of European soccer, and journeying to the lesser known yet fascinating destinations of the region.

My interests are pretty vast and since I love to try new things, I’m certain that the list will get longer in Italy. In the plainest of terms, I love books, music, telling stories and most importantly, interacting with people. I’m a huge believer in spontaneity and exploration and I feel almost certain that this blog will not, in any way, be devoid of interesting events to read about.

Comments and questions are more than welcomed so please feel free to comment on the blog or shoot me an email. Check out all of my posts here.

Wish me luck!
Danielle
